My time at the Legacy Disciple Making Conference 2010 Part 1
For those who are unaware of what the Legacy disciple making is let me introduce you to what it is. Context brings both meaning and beauty the events that will follow in the upcoming posts, so let's begin. Here is a link to the website and a video so you can investigate for thyself, but let me summarize if I may. This conference is a gathering of believers and non believers alike to focus attention on the beauty of Christ in all areas of life. Theologians, Pastors, Emcees, and more serve, teach, minister, and pour their lives into the hearts and lives of all who attend. The names of the men who are presenting are guaranteed to draw crowds, but the ironic part is twofold. One, the men themselves are humble slaves who kept assuring me that they are nobody to Christ alone be honor, and glory dominion and power forever and ever amen! Two, the main fruit of the conference is the fellowship from other believers. I cannot tell you how many Facebook friend requests were sent and received this past weekend. All who attended can attest with a hearty AMEN! the loooong nights, and early mornings seemed little in light of the wonderful friendships and bonds that were joined by men and women of all backgrounds, nationalities, and citizenship's. "So how did you come to know the Lord?" echoed frequently throughout the halls, classrooms, courtyard, restaurants, and dorms. As I walked through the many beautiful buildings of Moody Bible Institute I saw sights and sounds even more lovely than the architecture, I saw prayer, and bible studies, and laughter. freestyle sessions, and worship. Serving, and love manifested in the preaching of the gospel of Christ. Oh the joys my heart leaped with as I pondered the thought of an eternity of Christ centered existence, and community. I'll continue to get into detail of the conference shortly. Grace and Peace in Christ Alone!

Divine Providence while driving through Providence
"I used to sell drugs outta that house right there" I sadly said as I pointed to a run down, boarded up duplex that once was the spot for all kinds of wickedness. My wife and I were driving in the area that I used to dwell in before God saved me by His amazing grace. Cranston Street was and still is a den of iniquity. Vice of all kinds, shades, and tastes are in full force in this area, and I had my fair share of sinful pleasures there as well. As I passed by my old hangouts I couldn't help but feel the burden of sadness for time wasted, I could just hear John Piper and LeCrae both screaming at me "Don't waste your life!". The overwhelming waterfall of God's grace to me rushed in upon my soul, and I was speechless because I knew better than any how much I truly and completely deserved hell for what I did there (Not as though I didn't deserve hell for everything else I've done but you get the pint). Not just my sins, but my attitude. I honestly believed I was a Christian while I was doing all the dirt I did. I really and truly had peace in my deceitful heart that if I died in those days that I would have been heaven bound. God thank You for Your mercy, and patience. It was not the will of the Lord to crush me, for in His Divine Providence, He snatched me away from the pit of hell by the blood of His beloved only begotten Son Jesus the Christ! It was 11 years ago that I was living as a dead man in this city, around this area, on this street. 11 years ago by his beautiful grace that He took me out of Rhode Island and brought me to San Antonio where, again by His sovereignty, He brought me to where I heard the gospel of Jesus Christ, and was born again from above. Thank You Lord
